Bala Lake, "Llyn Tegid" in Welsh, is the largest natural body of water in Wales, measuring 4.5 miles long and 3/4 of a mile across. Prepare yourself to be inspired by this beautiful haven at the gateway to Snowdonia.
Relax on the shores of the lake or enjoy challenging the waters yourself – the choice is yours. You may choose to search out hidden treasures on foot or enjoy them at your leisure on the narrow-gauge steam train journey along the shores of the lake.

Bala lake is an excellent venue for watersports enthusiasts with good access at several points for launching sailing craft and canoes.
The RYA approved watersports centre is located on the lake shore where sailing, canoeing and windsurfing tuition can be readily arranged & craft may be hired.

Located in the beautiful Snowdonia National Park surrounded by the high peaks of Aran Benllyn, Arenig Fawr and the spectacular Berwyn mountains, this area encompasses the wealth of nature shaped by generations of families dedicated to the land.
